Doesn't have to be a forward thinking committee Riders.
You need a Committee with drive and passion, that will go above and beyond to make racing a better experience. From there you continually improve on what is and isn't a success. You need to be courageous and make decisions that are for the betterment of that club. Not what is for the good, of a select few.
You don't need a committee that is there for Pats on the back, a free ride or for their own benefit. You also don't need people on your committee that just want the title so they can run around and tell the world that there on Said committee so they feel some worth in there life.
This goes for all clubs, not just race clubs. Back in the day, I feel Committees had drive and passion about there clubs. Nowadays I think people only sign up for the title.
herein lies the problem for a lot of clubs around the country. There are a lot of people only on committee for there own benefit .

Rogan Josh finished 2nd in the 1999 Perth Cup, beaten by 0.2 lengths, the winner was King Of Saxony who won first-up after a spell.
Bart Cummings was on course that day at Ascot for the Perth Cup, he was visiting his old mate J.J Miller (King Of Saxony's trainer) who rode Bart's 1966 Melbourne Cup winner - Galilee.
Bart was impressed with Rogan Josh's effort in the Perth Cup and later on when owner Wendy Green asked Bart to train the horse he remembered that effort in the Perth Cup and decided to train the horse for a tilt at the 1999 spring carnival with the main target being the Melbourne Cup. The rest as they say is history.
